Hello Sean, it is year 2024 and I recently came across your van build videos. You videos are great because I’ve changed my ideas a million times with floor plans, cabinets, etc, etc 😅. Your attention to detail is much appreciated! I look forward to viewing the rest of your van series. As for the “INSULTS” your advice is spot on. We can be like a duck and let roll off our backs, or do a self examination and make changes. I find people make insults are insecure, jealous, and bullies. Nowadays, people lack the advice of parent rearing and etiquette.

Please start wearing gloves...omg why are you handling a roadkill carcass without gloves??! Between fleas, ticks, mites etc. that haven't made it off the carcass yet and the fly egg masses in fur....eep.😮 😬😱😣 I mean good on you and all of us who see roadkill as an opportunity, but not if it means getting a disease in the process.

Hi Sean, I'm going to be the new owner of this van soon! You mention in this video it had a new engine. Could you give me any details of this please? At what mileage was it changed, was it brand new of second hand etc? I know it was a while ago, but any info would be useful to know. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

Hello When I bought the van the seller told me that the previous owners had replaced the engine. It was from a plumbing com0any originally. He did not give me any service history or details of when the engine was replaced. The milage when I sd it was correct in relation to when I bought it. The company was City Plumbing if I remember correctly. Sorry I cannot be of more help.

(In my mind I’m about to throw that cat across the room!) You didn’t say/show if the Wave can open as pliers fully with both blades on same side (side by side, before you flipped the straight blade over to left-hand opening) or do the opposing blades inhibit the handles from opening fully?

My first exposure to hardcore survival shelter building was for the boreal/subarctic environment in winter: 2 closely facing lean-tos, steeply pitched, with long fire between, sleeping platforms set high to take best advantage of the fire. There used to be an old black-and-white military film explaining this structure, but I can't find it here anymore. Then I remembered seeing a video with Sean where the same build was demonstrated in a British Sitka spruce plantation. This is an old video with no recent comments, but if our host, or anyone listening, can direct me to either of these videos, I would appreciate it. I am surprised that there are not more videos demonstrating this build--- because it is best for the boreal winter emergency.

Let's never forget what the legendary Mors Kochanski said concerning what gear to carry for survival. Your primary gear/tools to carry should revolve around 2 realities: 1) restful sleep 2) proper hydration. Your survival strategy should always revolve around these 2 factors. Lastly, why 5 items? That question is meaningless due to the various environments, eco systems, terrain , weather patterns for said region and more. Placing limits on what to carry or how to survive a given situation will limit your chances of survival. In two words: NO LIMITS!
